Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods

Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods

Hey guys it's Swink again back again with another anime review, this time i'll be reviewing Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods, so those who don't know here's a little of the background of DBZ:BoG.

Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods is the eighteenth feature film based on the "Dragon Ball" series and fourteenth with the branding "Dragon Ball Z", released on March 30, 2013 and October 7, 2014 in America. It is the first Dragon Ball movie in 17 years to have a theatrical release, the last one being the tenth anniversary movie in 1996.
DBZ:BoG's is the first film in the series to be considered an official part of the Dragon Ball story line, being set during the time skip in chapter 517 of the original manga, with original creator Akira Toriyama deeply involved.

Beerus, the God of Destruction, learning of the defeat of the galactic overlord Frieza at the hands of Goku. Seeking an opponent worthy of his power, and hearing of a powerful being, Beerus, along with his companion Whis, travels to North Galaxy to challenge Goku to a battle.

Review:
I had found out about Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods after seeing many post about it everywhere, by then it was already out in Japan, so sense I don't normally watch anime in Japanese, I had waited for FUNimation to get the rights to dub it, so when i had finally got to watch it in English I had the nostalgic feeling of the old DBZ series from hearing Sean Schemmel voice Goku and Chris Sabat voice Vegeta. DBZ:BoGs is probably by now one of my favorite DBZ movies to this date, BoG has amazing action scenes, some comedy here and there, amazing English voice acting (in my opinion), and all around just an amazing movie from one of my favorite anime from when I was a kid.
Love it or hate it DBZ:BoG is one hell of a movie, trust me you won't regret watching this, I would recommend this to and DBZ or anime fan and any family or friends.

I give Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods a 9.5 out of 10, check it out and tell me what you think.

Samurai Champloo

Samurai Champloo

Hey guys it's Swink here to review the anime Samurai Champloo, let's get started.

For those who don't know here's a little background on Samurai Champloo, SC (Samurai Champloo) ran from May of 2004 to March of 2005, SC was made by the production team led by director Shinichirō  Watanabe (Cowboy Bebop, Kids on the Slope, Space Dandy, Terror in Resonance) , SC was Watanabe's first directorial effort for an anime after Cowboy Bebop. Like Cowboy Bebop, Samurai Champloo was critically acclaimed. FUNimation had dubbed the series after Geneon Entertainment had ceased production of its titles.

Samurai Champloo is set in a alternative version of the Edo-era of Japan with an anachronism, predominantly hip-hop, setting. It follows the characters Mugen, Jin and Fuu as they search for the "samurai that smells of sunflowers" .

Review:
I first got wind of Samurai Champloo a few months ago after it was suggested to me a few times so I thought i'd check it out, so I started watching the first 5 episode one night, I told myself I wasn't going to stay up all night and watch it, well that was a lie by the time I knew it I was up till 3 or 4 watching it. Samurai Champloo has to be one of my all time favorite anime show's next to Soul Eater, SC takes you on a adventure with it with its dark comedy and its action, not to mention Mugen's a total badass with his damn break dancing moves. I won't go into to much detail in my review about SC, I don't want to spoil it for you, but I do say you will not regret watching Samurai Champloo at all I know I haven't, this is a series I will watch more than once, so all in all I would recommend SC to a friend, family or pretty much anyone who loves anime.

I give Samurai Champloo a 9 out of 10, let me know what you think of it, if you watch it.
